The BES Photo Exhibition at the Museu Colecao Berardo in Belem, near Lisbon

Here is my favorite, not the winner, but a cutie, from Duarte Amaral Netto a Portuguese photographer.  HIs exhibit derived from negatives of a relative who had taken a gliding course in Germany in the early 1930s.  He wanted to spin a plot from them.   Tell your own story about this one!

Our landlord in Lisbon, Cesar

Cesar, our landlord, has really made us feel at home during our month-long stay in Lisbon.  I love his distinction between tourists (not us) and travelers (us).  We love meeting interesting people, not seeing "things" so much.  Here are Cesar and Rowan at the entrance to the house he built, with no plans or architect, just intuitively) with 90% recycled (discarded by people who demolish buildings in Lisbon) materials.  Here are raw materials and the beautifully varnished strong beams for support:

And look at the beautiful front door!

And then, when he isn't making his house from scratch, he makes the cutest little puppets.  Here is one, sticking his (or her) tongue out!
